BBC SCIENCE FOCUS SCOOPS TWO AWARDS AT THE 2019 BSME TALENT AWARDS

BBC Science Focus magazine, the UK’s no.1 science and technology magazine. picked up two awards, and a highly commended, at the 2019 British Society of Magazines (BSME) Talent Awards, at Omeara in London last night (Monday 10th June 2019)

In a hugely successful evening for BBC Science Focus, Helen Glenny won the Best Editorial Assistant Award, praised by the judges for assuming an incredible amount of responsibility and showing maturity beyond her experience.

Features Editor, Jason Goodyer picked up the Best Section Editor Award, commended by the judges for creative and entertaining angles on complex subjects, with features which are well thought through packages.

BBC Science Focus’ Production Editor, Alice Lipscombe-Southwell, was also highly commended in the Best Subbing/Production Team category.

Daniel Bennett, BBC Science Focus Editor, says: “The BSME talent awards are a brilliant way to celebrate the incredible people we have working in this industry. We were up against some of the best magazines in the business, so it feels particularly special to have come away with a handful of awards.”

The BSME Talent Awards reward the brilliance of the all-too-often overlooked members of editorial and digital teams.
