The Brief

The University of Bristol wanted to create a bi-annual magazine covering a wide variety of topics from the university’s six faculties, providing informative, factual and engaging editorial in both print and digital formats.


We created Discover More, an exciting and engaging magazine for the University of Bristol, targeted at A-level students nationally to showcase the best that the University of Bristol has to offer. The 24-page bi-annual magazine provides prospective students with the perfect channel through which to engage with the University. Readers can learn more about the exciting projects taking place, from world-leading research to volunteering, exhibitions and inventions.

The magazine incorporates the very latest augmented reality technology – a first for the University of Bristol – providing an exciting experience for the reader, while clearly demonstrating the University’s commitment to new media and technology.

When readers download the free Discover AR mobile app, the augmented reality makes elements of the magazine ‘come to life’ – from front cover illustration animation through to interactive content and video.
