The UK Wedding Awards 2016 announces winners

The UK Wedding Awards – hosted by Immediate Media’s Wedding Network brands: hitched, Perfect Wedding and You & Your Wedding – has revealed its 2016 winners.

The winners, across 23 categories, were voted for by over 20,000 readers and received 130,000 votes after being shortlisted by a panel of industry experts* from hundreds of entries.

Recognising the very best of the UK’s bridal industry, the inaugural UK Wedding Awards celebrates all aspects of the wedding industry, focused around five key areas – Fashion, Venues, Suppliers, Travel and Gift Lists – with 23 categories from fabulous venues to beautiful dresses, incredible jewellery to dream honeymoons.

Zoe Jobson, Immediate Media Weddings Publisher says: “We are delighted at the level of engagement The UK Weddings Awards have generated – both inside the wedding industry with an incredible level of entries and among brides and bridal-party members who voted in staggering numbers. Shortlisting was certainly challenging, due to the high calibre of entries, so it was great to be able to give our readers the deciding vote! Our aim was to celebrate and showcase the excellent companies and individuals who make the wedding experience such a memorable one for thousands of UK couples – and we’re thrilled to recognise their commitment, creativity and exemplary service as we announce the winners list.

All the shortlist entries were also considered for the Editor’s Choice Awards; three unique awards selected by the editors of hitched, Perfect Wedding and You & Your Wedding. The Editor’s Choice awards winners include:

WINNER: Ellis Bridals

Julia Scirrotto, Editor, You & Your Wedding: “With more than 100 years in the business, Ellis Bridals certainly knows how to create an unforgettable wedding-day look, offering gorgeous gowns at an amazing price point. Brides love Ellis for the stunning array of designs, from simple silhouettes right up through serious style statements, and I love that this UK-designed legacy brand keeps its finger firmly on the fashion pulse while never straying from its core mission: to help brides look and feel their most beautiful.”

WINNER: Sandals

Michelle Royle, Editor, Perfect Wedding: “It’s been very difficult to choose an Editor’s choice from all the fantastic companies I deal with, but finally I chose all-inclusive romantic-getaway specialist Sandals. Their customer service is second-to-none and the choice of Caribbean resorts is incredible. Perfect for those honeymooners!”

WINNER: Clearwell Castle

Caroline Hendry, Editor, “There are many reasons why this Grade II listed mansion is my winner but one of the biggest has to be the stunning ballroom – with its 75ft aisle and leaded windows, it’s the most beautiful location for a civil ceremony with a difference. It really is rare to find a wedding venue with such a spectacular setting to say ‘I do’.”

All winners and further coverage can be found in the latest issues of Perfect Wedding and You & Your Wedding – both on-sale Thursday 24 March and online at hitched, and
