About the role

As a Marketing Assistant, you will work with the Marketing Manager to implement & optimise an annual marketing plan in line with business objectives. The focus and emphasis will be on implementing weekly marketing activity in line with objectives, acquisition - targeting new customer cohorts with a Radio Times mindset and executing the Radio Times Christmas consumer marketing campaign.

As a Marketing Assistant you will;

  • Work with the Head of Marketing and Marketing Manager to implement the annual plan for all key marketing outputs & initiatives e.g. tentpole moments, app, podcast(s), events, newsletters etc across a full range of channels
  • Be responsible for the weekly BAU marketing – writing, building, scheduling & analysing weekly activity
  • Write compelling and accurate copy for marketing comms & promotions
  • Manage internal contra deals including house ads, podcast swaps, newsletter banner swaps etc
  • Update landing pages & articles for brand campaigns
  • Support the marketing team with the implementation of 3rd party partnerships
  • Ensure the marketing output adheres to Radio Times values and audience expectations
  • Support with weekly reporting
  • Create & edit video when required
  • Work closely with central colleagues to adopt best practice across data, audience development, social, subscriptions, product development and CRM
  • Work with legal, data and finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting & that all campaigns are legally compliant
  • Be responsible for administrative duties including invoicing
  • Lead operational events management when required
  • Set up competitions when there is a clear business reason

Requirements

As well as being passionate, creative and organised, the ideal candidate should have at some relevant marketing experience in a marketing role and understand the use of a broad range of marketing channels.

You'll need to work with the Marketing Manager to analyse and present campaign results, budget for and optimise future campaigns. The ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise workload is paramount, and you must be comfortable working well under pressure.

  • Demonstrable experience in a junior marketing role.
  • Understanding of a wide range of marketing channels and tactics, and some experience in using some.
  • Would be good to have experience in creating social media content and using scheduling tools (e.g. Sprinklr) to organise and analyse.
  • Strong copywriting skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Close attention to detail, strong planning, organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, effectively prioritise workload and be calm under pressure.
  • Ability to think creatively and analytically.
  • Be proactive and have the hunger to learn.
