Brand Safety & Anti-Piracy Policy: How Immediate protects advertisers, users and our platforms
Immediate Media is committed to the highest standards of brand safety and anti-piracy. Our policies and procedures are designed to protect advertisers, users and our brands, supported by regular review and continuous improvement.
1. Monitoring & Detection
- MediaTrust 24/7 Monitoring: Real-time detection blocks malicious activity and ad quality issues automatically.
- Proactive Monitoring via RedBud: Compliance findings are shared with opted-in partners to strengthen the ecosystem.
- Block Lists:ย URL, creative-type and category block lists are reviewed regularly and aligned with BBC commercial policy.
2. Reporting & Notification Process
How to Report a Bad Ad
- Click the flag at the bottom left of the creative.
- Select the most relevant reason and hit โReport.โ The ad slot will refresh and the report is sent to the platform for investigation.
- Optionally, follow up with an email (DL-AdQuality@immediate.co.uk) with a screen shot and site details.
Internal Escalation
- Reports are sent to the Ad Quality distribution list (DL-AdQuality).
- A senior team member leads the response.
- Initial acknowledgement or action is targeted withinย 1 hourย for simple blocks.
Partner Notification
- Once a violation is confirmed, partners are notified via email using a central contact database.
- All partners are informed of issues, even if initially isolated to a single platform, to prevent recurrence via alternative supply paths.
3. Turnaround times and enforcement

4. MANTIS Brand Safety
Immediate Media uses MANTIS semantic technology to analyse content and create brand safety segments based on advertiser guidelines. Segments are recalculated regularly to ensure compliance for new campaigns.
5. Record keeping & auditing
- Ad Violations Log: All reactive ad quality issues are logged to identify and address recurring problems with partners, advertisers, and buyers.
- Partner Audits: Regular reviews of partner ad quality and security measures are conducted, with findings documented and shared internally.
6. Training & resources
Training is provided to internal teams to ensure effective identification and escalation of ad quality issues, reducing reliance on partners or operations teams.
