Reporting to the Director of Marketing Data, you will partner closely with marketing, growth, product, and finance stakeholders to ensure rigorous financial management and a clear focus on profitable subscriber growth.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded analyst to work in a fast-paced, data-driven environment, contributing to strategic planning and gaining deep exposure to subscription economics.

As a Commercial Financial Analyst, you will;

  • Maintain and analyse the P&L for the Marketing & Subscriptions function, identifying opportunities to improve spend efficiency and contribution margin.
  • Work with Management Accountants to ensure accurate reporting of revenue and profitability across the subscription portfolio.
  • Produce regular management performance reporting and presentations, analysing actuals versus plan and highlighting key drivers of variance across growth metrics.
  • Develop and maintain end‑to‑end marketing spend‑tracking, partnering with Growth and CRM teams to monitor campaign performance, customer acquisition cost (CAC) and analyse return on marketing investment.
  • Evaluate and optimise subscription cost lines to improve operational efficiency and enhance subscription profitability.
  • Monitor aged debt and payment flows for subscription and partner revenue, contributing to robust cash‑flow management.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting across marketing and subscription activities, including acquisition spend, retention programmes, and revenue projections.
  • Support revenue recognition and reconciliation processes related to subscription income, marketing vendors, and partner arrangements.
  • Support incentive and commission frameworks where relevant, ensuring alignment with growth and revenue targets.
  • Maintain an understanding of the product roadmap and the pipeline of new features from key software partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Early career experience (typically 1–3 years) in commercial finance, FP&A, or analytics — ideally within a subscription, digital, or media environment.
  • Strong Excel and financial modelling skills; experience working with large datasets.
  • Familiarity with BI tools, subscription metrics, or financial systems is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into clear commercial insights.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Confident communicator able to work with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Proactive, organised, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment.
