BBC History Magazine celebrates its 300th issue with a special edition featuring bumper 300 question quiz

Monday 29 January, 2024

Britainโ€™s bestselling history magazineย has joined forces with historiansย includingย Tracy Borman,ย Michaelย Woodย andย James Hollandย for the anniversaryย quizย challenge,ย celebrating the breadth and diversity of history.

BBC History Magazineโ€™s February issue (out now) marks the 300th issue of the bestselling history magazine in Britain.ย  The magazine is celebrating the landmark by asking historians to pose a series of quiz questions with categories covering everything from television and radio (David Hendy) to medieval animals (Hannah Skoda).

Sinceย BBC History Magazineย launched in 2000, well-known names including Monica Ali, Fergal Keane, Bernadine Evaristo, Sir Keir Starmer, Dame Vera Lynn and Boris Johnson have nominated their History Heroes, and the magazine has regularly made headlines including in 2013 when its readers voted David Bowie โ€œThe best-dressed Briton in historyโ€.

Editor ofย BBC History Magazine,ย Rob Attar, says: โ€œHistory is often quite a weighty subject, but we thought weโ€™d celebrate our 300thย issue with something a little more fun. Our enormously entertaining quiz has been set by some of our favourite historians and we hope our readers enjoy tackling it as much as we enjoyed putting it together.
