Immediate is home to some of the biggest and most loved consumer brands in the UK, including Radio Times, Good Food and BBC Gardeners World magazine. Our trusted, quality content reaches millions of people a month across digital, print, video, podcasts, apps and live events.

We’re the destination for people looking to get more from the things they love. We’re here to inspire, fuel, encourage and educate.

About the role

Are you curious about digital journalism, editorial production, or how a media app gets made? Want to work on real content for a well-known entertainment brand—even if you’ve never worked in media before?

We’re offering a 3-month paid internship for individuals who are interested in content creation, publishing, or entertainment media. No prior experience is needed – we’ll give you the tools, training, and support to get started.

As a Digital Content Intern, you will;

  • Support our editorial team in producing engaging, high-quality content for our app and website
  • Using WordPress and Fabric CMS to help build daily and weekly feature articles and curated recommendation lists
  • Assisting with the repurposing of print content for digital platforms, including working with InDesign files, PDFs, and uploading content
  • Liaising with teams across our editorial department to help source text, headlines, images, and metadata for articles
  • Attending and taking notes in editorial features meetings, and shadowing staff across different roles
  • Assisting with app content workflows, especially recommendation updates
  • Having the chance to write reviews, previews, and other editorial content depending on your interests and strengths

What You’ll Learn

  • How feature content is built and published for apps and websites
  • The basics of content management systems (CMS) like WordPress and Fabric
  • How a print article gets adapted for digital
  • What it takes to plan, write, and edit feature content
  • How different teams (designers, writers, editors) collaborate to deliver great content
  • How to write short reviews and recommendation blurbs in a professional tone

Requirements

  • Interested in media, digital content, writing, or entertainment
  • Comfortable with learning digital tools (we’ll train you!)
  • Organised, detail-focused, and enjoy working in a team
  • Open to giving and receiving feedback
  • An interest in TV, film, or pop culture

Our internships are designed to provide valuable insight into media and are aimed at people from backgrounds that are often underrepresented in our industry. We welcome applicants whose circumstances may have made it harder to access opportunities like this, whether due to financial, social, or other barriers.

Benefits

  • A relaxed working environment with regular socials
  • Immediate Community webinars, well-being initiatives and Mental Health First aiders
  • 25 days holiday annually
  • Tailored training and development through our Learning platform
