We’ve optimised our technology stack to minimise emissions, and we’re proud to be a carbon neutral company. We publish an annual carbon usage report and are committed to Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) reduction targets.Our partnerships with the Plastic Bank Project and the Woodland Trust Emergency Tree Fund further highlight our commitment to environmental responsibility.

Why Are We Doing This?
In 2023, the digital ecosystem was responsible for 3.5% of all greenhouse gas emissions, with advertising and marketing operations making up the vast majority. As a digital and print publisher with 9 brands and a combined audience of over 22 million, we recognize our responsibility to both people and the planet. But we also realise the power we have to deliver change and do our part in creating a sustainable future for our company and the planet.
More broadly we realise that the wider marketing and advertising industry can accelerate the transition to a more sustainable economy. We can drive value over volume and utility over excess. By telling different stories and setting new norms, we can create a culture of sustainability that goes beyond the digital publishing industry and into the wider economy.
How Are We Doing This?
We’re working with industry partners like AdNetZero, AdGreen, Scope3, and OpenX to cut the carbon emissions of our digital ad products. Additionally, we’re actively collaborating with the wider industry through the AOP, PPA, and IAB to share best practices and speed up progress.
We conduct sustainability training across our commercial operations, including AdGreen and Albert for our Imagine creative studio. Our wider advertising team has trained with The Give Back Project, and we’ve joined the Change the Brief alliance to enhance our efforts in incorporating sustainable content wherever possible.
