About the role

As Senior Marketing Executive, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-performing marketing campaigns across the BBC Gardeners’ World Events and Good Food Show portfolio, including BBC Gardeners’ World Live, BBC Gardeners’ World Fairs, Good Food Festival and the Festive Good Food Show. Commercially minded and digitally focused, you’ll work with the Marketing Manager and Portfolio Marketing Manager to plan, deliver and optimise multi‑channel campaigns that attract the right audiences, drive ticket and upsell revenue, and continuously improve performance.

You’ll bring proven experience as a campaign marketer with a strong passion for digital, playing a hands‑on role in shaping and delivering activity across email marketing, website performance and social media. Confident in testing, optimisation and insight, you’ll use data and learning to refine campaigns and improve results over time. Collaborative and proactive, you’ll work closely with colleagues and stakeholders to deliver first‑class campaigns, while also supporting the wider marketing function through customer communications, stakeholder liaison, onsite delivery and post‑event reporting.

As a Senior Marketing Executive you will;

  • Work with the Marketing Manager on the development and delivery of integrated marketing plans to achieve visitor and revenue targets across the portfolio.
  • Coordinate the delivery of targeted marketing materials and campaigns, with a focus on digital, tailored to specific audience cohorts and aligned with each event’s content strategy.
  • Work in close collaboration with Sales and Content teams to maximise ticket, workshop and upsell revenue through targeted comms and promotions.
  • Lead on each campaign’s digital delivery, ensuring email, website and social channels are aligned and cohesive.
  • Own the planning and delivery of email marketing activity (via Adestra), ensuring segmentation, deliverability, testing and optimisation are embedded into campaign delivery.
  • Take ownership of event websites, ensuring content is current, well designed and aligned with campaign messaging. Work with the Central team to optimise SEO, conversion and engagement, using insight from GA, sales reporting, ERM tools and visitor research to continuously improve performance.
  • Manage the organic social media campaign planning and delivery, supported by Marketing Executives, testing new formats and improving alignment with email campaigns.
  • Work with the central digital team on all paid digital marketing activity, from planning and delivery to optimisation and performance reporting across paid search, paid social and display.
  • Working with the data and CRM leads, manage campaign data requirements, supported by the Marketing Manager.
  • Monitor campaign performance against KPIs, including ticket sales reporting, and use insight to optimise activity.

  • Brief and manage external agencies and suppliers (design, ticketing, print, digital) to deliver high‑quality outputs in line with campaign objectives.
  • Work with the Marketing Manager to build and maintain effective media partnerships, contra agreements and industry relationships, ensuring maximum value and timely delivery of all assets.
  • Line‑manage and develop a Marketing Executive, providing clear direction, coaching and support to achieve agreed objectives.
  • Support in the production of comprehensive post‑show reports, analysing campaign impact, visitor behaviour and commercial outcomes to inform future strategy.
  • Help manage the ticket agent onsite at each event.
  • Attend all three BBC Gardeners’ World Events and two Good Food Shows on build‑up day and all open days, plus willingness to support at other Immediate Live shows on an ad‑hoc basis.

Requirements

  • You will need to meet 5 requirements to be considered for the role.
  • At least 3 years’ progressive experience in a marketing role, ideally within events, exhibitions, experiential or consumer brand marketing.
  • Experience across the full marketing mix, with a strong digital focus alongside offline campaign delivery.
  • Hands‑on, demonstrable, experience delivering digitally led campaigns, including email marketing, websites, search, paid and organic social, display and traditional channels.
  • Experience managing and optimising websites, with an understanding of CMS, SEO, conversion and engagement
  • A confident blend of creative thinking and data‑driven decision‑making.
  • Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Familiarity with ticketing platforms, CRM systems and box office processes.
  • A proactive, hands‑on approach and a desire to grow within the events industry.
