Senior Sales Executive (up to £38,000)

About the role

IM Direct is an award-winning outbound sales team with big ambitions. Formed at the end of 2022 we sell cross platform advertising solutions to SME’s incorporating both digital and print options. We target direct clients across many verticals including entertainment, food, gardening, motors, and travel. We speak to clients with budgets ranging from £5k - £80k.


So far, we’ve had lots of success and are looking to expand our team to take full advantage of the opportunities in the digital market. Our sales approach is consultative and fast paced. Our team values are built on collaboration, fun and a real desire to succeed.

As a Senior Sales Executive you will;

  • Be responsible for delivering budgeted digital direct revenues across IM Direct whilst developing digital products to drive significant revenue growth.
  • Take personal responsibility for booking digital new business revenue.
  • Analyse and identify sector and market trends, new products and commercial revenue streams that will add digital value to IM Direct.
  • Linked to the above, create a deep understanding, analysis and continuous monitoring of competitor sets, their digital ad revenue, client base and initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with the markets team, digital trading and ad ops to ensure client patches, product and market developments are clearly understood.
  • Play a key role in training and developing the IM Direct team about developments in the digital ad market.
  • Review constantly the IM Direct digital portfolio to ensure that our digital offering is relevant and optimized from a revenue perspective.
  • Ensure that all bookings, proposals, and contact reports are entered on Salesforce and that the team obtain confirmations at time of booking.
  • Act as a digital business ambassador on behalf of IM Direct in both internal and external meetings.



  • To be accountable to the Head of IM Direct for achieving digital budgets as set across the team.
  • Actively sell and take on revenue responsibility for the top 10 spending/potential clients in each vertical. Lead the sales team by example in terms of external meetings, presentations, and digital market knowledge.
  • Identify a key hit list of new business clients to ensure high levels of selling is achieved as well as being an ambassador for the brands.
  • To negotiate the best possible rate for each piece of business, using discretion within the parameters set out by Head of IM Direct to maximize cpms.
  • To keep regular contact with current, previous, and potential digital advertisers by the production of a sales strategy by key vertical for top potential spenders in each category.
  • To entertain digital clients (within hospitality budget guidelines) where this is advantageous to business.
  • Prepare and present appropriate sales progress reports to the Head of IM Direct and Trading Directors and, where appropriate, the MD Advertising.


  • Significant and successful sales experience within mainstream digital publishing.
  • A proven track record of project management.
  • Excellent sales, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Excellent knowledge and ability to apply all the latest applicable research and data within sales process.
  • Exceptional communication, administration, and business skills.
  • Ability to coach and motivate.
  • Genuine interest in the media industry and the developments within it.
